Hey everybody I am back, sorry for being away but I was on vacation in New Brunswick so here is a quick cathch up on what has been going on. It was enjoyable but let me tell you it was hard eating good out there. We stayed with the wife's grandparents which is great the only thing is every meal is big and full of carbs so needless to say I strayed a bit.
I told you a few posts ago that I had a foot ulcer well good to say that it is 95% healed and am going to work half days yeah.
That's all for now will be back tomorrow with more to say.

Customer service is not always good news.
Hey everybody it has been a few days but guess who's back, back again a little Slim Shady for you. So some good news I went to the doctor's yesterday to find out that my 3 month sugar read is in the 6's which is excellent and where it should be.
So it has been a week since I have had a Timmies I am no longer buying anything from them, it seems that 8/10 times I buy a coffee from them it is missing a 1/4 cup. It's hard because there is really no where else to buy from, there is Little Red Roaster but they close at 5pm, and McDonald's ain't bad but not great maybe i'll stop drinking coffee and save my money.
I've come to realize that customer service is not what it used to be, you would think that these days with less money going around it would be better, but then again with today's society people love to spend no matter how much debt they have so the stores could care less, if you don't come back there is 10 people waiting to get in behind you.
On a good note my and the wife are attending a bbq/potluck on Saturday with friends down at Port Stanley can't wait hoping the sun wants to be out.
that's it for now see ya later.

Diabetes, depression there is help.
Hey everybody, sorry it's been a couple of day's but I'm back. Nothing really new going on in the fun and exciting life of Marty kinda good I guess. Had an appointment for my foot on Monday and they said the ulcer is closed now it's just letting the skin heal itself.
I was thinking I probably didn't blog yesterday cause I was a little down and didn't feel like blogging, just getting tired of being off work and always having a problem with my feet, a good sign though is that I get out of bed everyday. Some times you feel a little down wondering why it is you that has the problems but you can't think that way, you still have to keep going.
Here is something to look for if you think you are having a problem.

Eating to feel better and live better.
Happy Monday, Had a good weekend we had a dinner party on Friday night at the Mabee's it was good eats made by everybody. Saturday and Sunday were your typical days cleaning and relaxing.
So today I want to mention eating for diabetics because that is one of the hardest things to deal with when you are diagnosed.
It's hard to make that change but when you do you will feel the difference in your day to day activities, you will also feel better.
So today I want to mention eating for diabetics because that is one of the hardest things to deal with when you are diagnosed.
Create a healthy meal plan:
To create a healthy meal plan you should do the following:
- Eat a variety of foods as recommended in the Diabetes Food Pyramid to get a balanced intake of the nutrients your body needs – carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, and minerals.
- Make changes gradually because it takes time to accomplish lasting goals.
- Reduce the amount of fat you eat by choosing fewer high-fat foods and cooking with less fat.
- Eat more fiber by eating at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables every day.
- Eat fewer foods that are high in sugar like fruit juices, fruit-flavored drinks, sodas, and tea or coffee sweetened with sugar.
- Use less salt in cooking and at the table. Eat fewer foods that are high in salt, like canned and packaged soups, pickles, and processed meats.
- Eat smaller portions and never skip meals.
- Learn about the right serving sizes for you.
- Learn how to read food labels.
- Limit use of alcohol.
It's hard to make that change but when you do you will feel the difference in your day to day activities, you will also feel better.

A day for fool's, finally you can be yourself..
Happy April fool's day everyone, if you got pranked today haha, if you did the prank good for you for enjoying being a fool today.
Today's post is going to get back on the diabetes topic. I take insulin and pills so I have decided to post something about how insulin works and helps a diabetic out.
From www.bloodsugardiabetic.com
Elevated levels of glucose in the blood stimulates cells of the pancreas to increase insulin secretion into the blood. The insulin circulates the body, and within minutes, stimulates the liver and muscle cells to take up glucose from the blood. As glucose is removed from the blood, obviously blood levels fall. As the levels in the blood fall, the secretion of insulin falls to, so less is produced, and less is taken up by the liver and muscle. In this way, the blood glucose level is reduced back to within the normal range.
For those of us who use insulin it sucks to have to poke yourselves (I do 4 times a day) but it doesn't mean the end of world you have to learn to adapt your lifestyle. If your lucky enough (sounds odd that I am saying lucky) you will be able to not need insulin if you lose weight or you take control of your diabetes with proper eating and pills. Sometimes your doctor will put you on it to help you out because you don't properly control your sugars, if you have problems or don't quit really understand and are afraid to ask you can visit www.diabetes.ca it is the web site for the Canadian Diabetes association they should be able to point you in the right direction.Have a fun fools day

Whew a close one yesterday. Judge Judy ended up being rushed to the hospital from the set of her show was a little scared there for a bit but it just turns out to be nothing major. I like her cause she put's up with no bullshit, and tells it like it is. Hope your back pounding that gavel soon.
So here is that awesome recipe that I said I would post today it's for little mini quiches that you can make for that morning or for the next, very easy to make.
First I preheated my oven to 350 then I sauteed mushroom, peppers and onion together and put them in 4 muffin tins or ramikin's if you prefer, than I lightly whipped 6 eggs and poured them evenly over top then I put a little goats cheese in them. You can put in whatever you like (spinach, sausage etc.). Make sure you use pan spray on the tins. Put in oven and cook for roughly 20-25 mins. I turned them half way through I don't really trust my oven.
Nutritional value per serving:Calories 168, Total Fat 8g, Carbs 7g, sugars 2g, protein 17g, sodium 367mg, cholesterol 8mg.
Made these and man were they great easy to do, quick to reheat in the morning and something different.
Quote for the day- Always forgive your enemies-nothing annoys them so much.

Parking and Government some how these people share the same brain.
Hey everyone just a quick post for today first went to the eye doctor today and everything is the same all good. Now a little quirk about me is that when people do things that hinder other people it annoys me a little, and i fell that these people need to know so I politely point it out. Today's was at the doctor's he has 4 parking spot's 1 for small compact car' 3 for everything else, as I was going to my vehicle I noticed that someone with a smart car was parked in a regular spot he should have been parked in the small car spot. You might think oh no big deal but if I pulled in and the only spot available was the small one and you drove a big vehicle it would be a problem. I wouldn't care if there were a lot of spots like at a mall put when there are so few be considerate.
Last rant, got my tax return back today ya money, the thing is every time we move the government some how figures out that the address on my wife's return is where to mail it but some how they keep mailing my stuff to my dad's. I have called them 3 times to tell them my address but they can't seem to figure it out. I owed them a GST payment i shouldn't have got when me and the wife got married they remembered to take that but can't figure out how to get my mail to the right address.
